    Story and Vision

Born in the tiny, now-vanished town of Oiwake in Hokkaido, Japan, I grew up dreaming big thanks to the sounds of Guns N’ Roses, the thrill of skateboarding, and the blockbuster energy of Top Gun. After following the path of a mentor entrepreneur during my student years, I made Los Angeles my home eight years ago. Half a century after my birth, my passion for this city has only deepened—and I’m on a mission to share its magic with the world.

      Market Opportunity

LA County’s market opportunity peaks with three mega-events: the 2026 World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl, and 2028 Olympics. Over the 39-day World Cup window, 180,000 out-of-town fans will converge on LA, generating $594 million in local economic activity. Next, Super Bowl LXI will welcome some 150,000 visitors, driving up to $477.5 million in tourism spending and tax revenue. Finally, the 2028 Games are set to host over 15 million attendees, injecting roughly $18 billion into the region. This unprecedented influx across LA County’s 88 cities can catalyze a vibrant post-pandemic recovery and long-term growth.

The Problem: Language as a Barrier

Every year, 6.2 million international tourists visit LA, but 78% of them cannot speak English well enough, and approximately 4.8 million are unable to make full use of local information. For example, Japanese tourists have access to less than 5% of services available through Japanese channels. At an event held by the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, a surf school targeting tourists learned that despite there being 400,000 Japanese tourists, most of them were unaware of their services. This language barrier not only frustrates travellers but also causes small businesses to lose potential revenue—capturing just 1% of this market could generate an additional $400,000 in revenue for a single service. Without support in their native language, these millions of people are missing out on Los Angeles’ hidden gems and experiences.
